Pa. House Revenue Package Will Close Tax Loopholes, While Preserving Critical Services

|

This Reports and Briefing Papers outlines the components of House Bill 2435, the House revenue package introduced by State Rep. Dwight Evans in May of 2010. Raising an estimated $344 million in the first year alone, HB 2435 will close corporate tax loopholes, enact a severance tax on natural gas production, assess an excise tax on cigars and smokeless tobacco, and close a sales tax giveaway that has put millions of our sales tax dollars in the pockets of big retailers like Home Depot and Wal-Mart.
